I thought that the MEf video showed a lot of really important things involving the media's effects on gender roles in today's society.
I thought that it was important that the video included points and concerns not only for women, who are usually thought of to be more affected by the media, but also men.
I think that the media does have a huge effect on self-confidence and self esteem on all people that are exposed to it. Media basically dictates what is supposed to be 'normal' in everyday life.

I am having creative difficulty with this assignment. I really don't have an image that I would really love to write about, but I guess I will go with the image about gas.

Images for Argument

This image argues that people should buy gas from the caucasian man instead of the other one. The argument is racist and touches on the subject of outsourcing.

This image argues that certain types of music are worse than others. This billboard was produced by a parental group. The group basically tries to violate teens right to listen to music of their choosing.

This billboard is very controversial and clearly expresses the views of the company that put it up.

Toulmin Argument

Claim: Smokers should have to pay more for health insurance.
Data: Smoking increases the risk to develop health problems, as stated on the surgeon generals warning on the carton of packs of cigarettes. People who are more likely to have problems with health usually have to pay more for health insurance.

Warrant: It is unfair that a person with less health risks should be made to pay the same amount as someone who endangers themselves by smoking.

Backing: People need to have a fair system.

Qualifier: Always

Rebuttal: Unless they are taking steps and showing initiative to quit smoking.
